Fees & Rebates
Fees
Our standard psychology sessions are $250 and run for 50-minutes in duration. Payment is required in full on the day of your appointment.
Standard Psychology Session (50-minutes) - $250
Initial Assessment Psychology Session (between 75 and 90-minutes) - $300
Please note: For access and affordability reasons, this practice chooses to set fees below the recommended fee set by the Australian Psychological Society, which is $318 for a 50-minute session.
Private Health
You may also claim sessions via your private health fund. If you wish to claim under private health, please let us know and we can arrange for private billing. Please note that you will need to pay for your session in full, and submit this to your private health claim yourself.
Referrals
A referral is not required if you wish to see a psychologist on a private basis.
Medicare Rebates
Medicare rebates are available for psychology sessions under valid care plans, which can be obtained by visiting your GP. To be eligible for Medicare rebates, you will need to book an appointment with your GP to discuss and complete a referral, and either an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan (EDTP), a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), or a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP).
The current Medicare rebate for sessions with Generally Registered Psychologists and Clinical Psychology Registrars is $98.65, as determined by Medicare and reviewed periodically. It is anticipated that this rebate will increase to $145.45 later this year, following Sarah’s expected AHPRA Clinical endorsement. In line with this change, standard session fees are expected to increase to $300. This adjustment is intended to ensure that the out-of-pocket cost for clients remains approximately the same.
Please note that it is the responsibility of the GP and the individual being referred, to ensure all Medicare requirements are met. If the referral or care plan provided to Sarah MoloneyPsychology does not meet these requirements, we will be unable to process the rebate
